RAID Connect 22′

RAID Connect 22′

Due to lockdowns and social distancing, ‘RAID Connect’ 2021 events were quite challenging for all to organise, support and attend. Eight months ago, 2022 seemed so very far away as did life after lockdown. Guess what? Lockdown is cautiously over and 2022 is but a blink away and ‘RAID Connect 22’ events are back with a vengeance!

‘RAID Connect 22’ is a series of social diving events planned nationally by RAID and its affiliated dive centers, that everyone is encouraged to attend for the following very cool reasons:

  1. These beautiful coastal areas are based on locations that are easily accessible to national and regional divers.
  2. Diving these locations has been subsidised by the lovely local dive operators to encourage RAID divers to try out new waters.
  3. Meet like-minded divers – share stories, dives and local/international dive knowledge
  4. Try some different dives in new waters.
  5. Plan your dives way in advance by joining RAID and connecting with the local centre’s ahead of time to plan your trips.

‘RAID Connect 22’ is much more than just diving. The whole point of these social connections, created by RAID, is to meet other like-minded people to share and learn new experiences in a fun way. There is nothing more beneficial for your dive progression and enjoyment. Enjoying the buzz of diving is unique, it’s the life-blood of this beautiful sport.

The first stage of attending ‘RAID Connect 22’ is for divers/instructors to contact the RAID dive center to confirm their participation and register their interest with the hosting centre. So who are hosting the events and where?

South Coast 4th/5th June – Dorset Diving Services – Leon and JoJo – info@dorsetdiving.co.uk For more details visit https://www.dorsetdiving.co.uk/blogs/news/raid-connect-weekend-this-summer

For more details visit diveraiduk.com/westcoastdivingraidconnect22

The above hosting RAID Dive Centre’s are in charge of the events, they’re NOT RAID events but RAID UK will promote, support and attend them as much as possible. RAID UK encourages ALL its members to attend their chosen events. The long-term plan is that these RAID Connect events become regular events that repeat each year.

Please contact one of the Dive Centre’s above and start your 2022 dive adventure now!

See you there – The RAID UK Team.

RAID Connect – Wales

It’s time to go places, explore and connect to others. Whatever your experience level, RAID Connect is a perfect way to kick start your diving at these great coastal locations events.

Each event has been chosen and organized by active RAID Dive Centres, attended by RAID staff at locations we feel everyone should dive and enjoy.

RAID Connect is much more than just diving, the whole point is the “connections” meeting other like-minded people is so beneficial, especially with the months of social distancing we have experienced. Enjoying the buzz of the sport and the social interaction is the life-blood of the beautiful sport of scuba.

Who’s welcome?

Everyone – RAID is a fully inclusive diver trainer agency, we don’t care what colour tee-shirt you wear and encourage people of all ages to come along and Connect.

How do I book?

Wales – 3rd/4th July (Bay Divers)

This event is co-hosted by RAID Dive Centre – Bay Divers, Karl and his team can be reached on – 07859 018970 or email baydivers@live.co.uk to register for the event. Their website is www.baydivers@live.co.uk

When: The weekend of 3&4 July

Diving: Store based, relaxed shallow (10m max) scenic diving. Ideally for refreshing your skills and getting back in the salty stuff.

Where: held at St Brides (SA62 3AJ). Bay divers use this site regularly, it offers swimming pool like qualities near high tide and is sheltered from the typical SW conditions as it’s northerly facing. A great and popular little site that sits on the edge of the conservation area where fishing is banned & therefore a plethora of life!

Speak to Bay Divers for assorted dives, rental and equipment options and further site information, if required.

You’ll need to arrange your own accommodation, there are a few B&Bs & self-catering properties in Little Haven so on the accommodation side, you’d need to get in early with your booking. It’s rammed in the summer and great atmosphere in Little Haven, you guys will love it!

B&B at Hasguard Cross (Walker’s Lodge, SA62 3SJ) and there’s lots of campsites nearby.

We suggest people book to arrive Thursday/Friday and perhaps we could jam in a cheeky dive or two then, with diving on Saturday ( socialising activities allowing) diving Sunday  leaving Sunday or Monday free for the travelling divers to enjoy a late breakfast, gather their kit & depart. See you there!
