At the beginning of April In Deep Dive Centre, Plymouth joined the RAID UK family. Based in the Mountbatten Water Sports Complex in Plymouth the team have excellent facilities on offer.
About In Deep
In Deep was formed to offer diver training, to serve the needs of divers, to conduct marine research and to promote the conservation of the environment and wildlife in the local area. The centre offers a range of diver training, superb dive boat charter packages, a range of gas filling services and has a well-equipped online retail store.
The staff at In Deep is made up of a range of very highly skilled, disciplined instructors and professionals. Their skills and qualifications mean that In Deep is able to cater for commercial diving projects, scientific dive projects and provide services to the local authorities including The University of Plymouth & The National Marine Aquarium. Their individual and combined knowledge of diver training makes the instructional team at In Deep second to none, thus enabling them to deliver an excellent training package utilising state of the art facilities and equipment.
Leading the team is Ben Kellet, dive centre manager and skipper, who passionate about creating the next generation of divers and providing a unrivalled level of service.
In the team is also James Balouza, a graduate in Ocean Science, a Commercial Skipper & Diver. James is a fountain of information when it comes to anything about diving or the underwater world. He is the Assistant Manager of the centre, so always buzzing around keeping things running smoothly.
Diving in and around Plymouth
In Deep’s team are very fortunate to be situated minutes from the abundance of wrecks and reef systems that Plymouth has to offer including stunning dive sites that date back to the 1700’s and beautiful drop off walls abundant in marine life and famous for there fantastic visibility. Their charter boat services are available to individuals and large groups, with experienced skippers offering a very enjoyable and safe days diving with excellent local knowledge and two of the best dive boats Plymouth has to offer.
In Deep is very proud to play host to an unrivalled compressor and storage bank facility, allowing us to supply and cater for customers in a very effective and efficient manner. Air, Nitrox and Trimix to 300 bar can be turned around on demand with qualified and experienced technicians on site to offer help and advice with equipment servicing and dive planning. Catering for two thirds of the South West’s visiting divers, In Deeps service and facilities are second to none.
In Deep plays host to a wide variety of onsite facilities including; accommodation for up to 60 persons, a fully licensed bar, cafe, shower and changing facility, large onsite parking, unloading / loading area directly in front of our pontoon, a choice of slipways for launch and recovery of RHIB’s, a large secure pontoon, boat storage facility and fresh water for rinsing boats and equipment.
